ToggleParking and official parking of the Caminito del Rey
The main car park of the Caminito del Rey is located in the Visitor Reception Center, in which there is an official parking lot, with limited areas and video surveillance for an amount of €2 per day. It is recommended to arrive at the car park at least one hour in advance of the visit time. This is due to the crowds that occur for parking.
Furthermore, there are two additional parking areas, one at the beginning of the Caminito del Rey and another at its final part, just at the end of the route.
It is more than recommended to reserve the parking space during the purchase proces of tickets to visit the Caminito del Rey.
Below we provide you with information about the three parking areas of the Caminito del Rey:
Parking at the Visitor Reception Center
The Visitor Reception Center is located about two and a half kilometers from the North Access, where the Caminito del Rey begins. Here, as a general rule, you will find parking easily. Once you have parked, the shuttle bus will take you to the beginning of the Caminito del Rey, the price of the shuttle bus service is €2.50.
After the journey along the Caminito de Rey, which takes approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes to 2 hours, you will arrive at the charming neighborhood of El Chorro in Álora. Here, you simply return the protective helmet provided by the organization. Just 300 meters away, you will find the convenient shuttle bus stop (an independent service not managed by Caminito del Rey).
Buy your ticket online to link it to your ticket or purchase it in cash from the driver when you board the bus.
The bus service operates from 7:40 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., with a journey time of approximately 15-20 minutes to the stop near Restaurante El Kiosko.
Parking at the North Access of Caminito del Rey
Located next to the Conde de Guadalhorce Reservoir in the so-called North Access, various parking options are offered for visitors.. A municipal parking lot is available for a daily fee of 2 euros, and there are also spaces along the road designated for leaving vehicles, always respecting traffic rules.
In addition to parking facilities, the area has two restaurants and numerous areas to enjoy the panoramic views of the reservoir and its surrounding landscapes. However, it is important to note that the popularity of this area attracts many visitors, which can result in a limited availability of parking spaces, especially during periods of high demand.
Despite this drawback, it should be noted that this parking lot is very interesting, since it is located just 25 or 50 minutes away on foot, depending on the pedestrian access chosen.
Parking at the exit
We recommend parking your vehicle in parking P2, right at the entrance to the neighborhood after the Tajo de la Encantada dam. Although it is currently in the process of conditioning, this car park is fully operational.
After parking, you will be just 300 meters from the shuttle bus stop, located on the train platform. Get your single ticket for just 2.50 euros per person (not included in the ticket price), with the flexibility to move in both directions throughout the day. You can purchase it online to link it to your ticket or buy it in cash from the driver when you board the bus, since card payments are not accepted.
This option is, perhaps, the most interesting, since at the end of the route, you will already have your vehicle next to you., in addition to having several restaurants where you can enjoy the views and local cuisine.
